Pantelleria is an island south east of Sicily (50 miles from Tunisia). Island of volcanic origin, with rocky beaches on the sea, vineyards, gardens and woods in its hinterland. Unique in the Mediterranean also for its architecture (dammusi).
Pantelleria is exclusive because protected by its strong nature and therefore untouched by mass tourism. It has a well maintained airport (it is a strategic island) with daily flights from Palermo, Trapani and from Rome and Milan during the summer season.
The “Le Bughe” complex is a sort of small village, made of two houses with interposed large terraces, patios, swimming pool and Arab garden, surrounded by pine and olive trees. It lays on the south west side of the island (15 minutes by car from Pantelleria, the main village), enjoying the best sunset on the island and a glorious view both towards the sea and Africa, and towards the "montagna grande" in the center of the island.
North of the house (1,5 km), the village of Rekkale lays like an old times crib. The sea is in front of you (20 minutes walk). You can reach all beaches (only rocky beaches) by car. If you wish, you can rent a boat in the nearest village.
There are no night clubs or discos; just bars, sometimes with music.
One cinema at 3.5 km. The shallow, “ludic” pool is safe for use by children and senior people.
The main house has a living room, two bedrooms (one double and one twins), a large bathroom and the kitchen.
The second house has a living room, two bedrooms (double/twins) and two bathrooms, laid out to form two completely separate suites.
They are simply and tastefully decorated in British/Mediterranean country style, warm and classy. The deep stone walls (more than 1m. deep) provide large space for built-in acajou cupboards, besides protecting from heat in summer. Anyway, all bedrooms are fitted with ceiling fans.
The house is provided with all necessary linen (NO beach towels). Cleaning is done once a week by a local lady. Washing machine, pool equipment.
Fixed telephone (possible internet connection, no ADSL). No TV.
