A warm welcome to Salicotto Farm, just 3 km from the ancient village of Buonconvento in Sienas famous clay hills (the Crete Senesi), from its owners, Silvia and Paolo!
Salicotto Farm is a small family-run and organically-approved farm of 28 ha. It lies at the top of one of the typically gentle hills around Siena, sorrounded by countryside of great beauty and with fabulous views.
The complex of buildings, consisting of the main house and the barn, dates from the early 19th century and was restored in 2004 to match its original design.
The main house is divided between the part we occupy and the part which contains the rooms for our guests who want to enjoy the experience of agritourism.
Between us we speak fluent English, French and German (as well as our native Italian!).
We like to provide our guests with a warm and informal environment in which they can feel like friends of the family. We enjoy taking care of our guests and looking after their particular needs without imposing ourselves in any way.
In the main building we have 5 comfortable rooms with twin/double beds which are furnished in appropriate style. All have a private bathroom, air-conditioning and their own independent entrance. Also available is a large open-space apartment above the barn which has a particularly splendid view.
There are so many ways to relax!
You can explore our vegetable garden to find something for dinner, lounge in a hammock to read that book youve been trying to get to for so long, try the excellent local wine with its accompanying bruschetta, enjoy the sunset surrounded by the colours and perfumes of nature or just keep cool beside the swimming-pool
We have all the information you will need on the festivals, markets, concerts and entertainment offered in and around Siena.
And we can provide you with details of the best trips to explore the old villages, castles and monasteries of the area as well as the glories of its nature the hills and woods, vineyards and fields.
We can offer bicycles with maps to show you the ways to get around (and how easy or difficult they are!). And, for those with a particular interest in the famous local wineries, we can organise guided
